2020 started with an event that originated in 2019 and the consequences of which will have repercussions in the years to come.

MATERIAL

WOOD

A wooden beam was the basis on which we built this project which was at the same time a common element and a link between the elements used.

MUSIC

The decision to use this part of the song in particular wants to be a warning on which everyone should stop to reflect. Time is not an infinite resource, perhaps even our enemy, when it comes to acting promptly.

ELECTRICITY

The battery has been used as a symbol of our modernity trying to highlight how easy it is to unleash a catastrophe even though we are not directly responsible for it. Or maybe we are not fully aware of it.

STEEL WOOL & TIME

The decision to use steel wool was in a certain way dictated from the necessity/urgency to be able to manipulate time and to use it then as an additional material.

MATCHES

With the matches we were able to represent the fire and its strength. At the same time we wanted to make a statement to rise attention on the fact that almost everything is helpless when left on its own and if you don't take care of it and its surroundings.

FABRIC & LIGHTS

On the background we used green fabric and some light to stage far a city, which was surrounded by a forest that was not burning a that time.

CAN

The last element used is an empty can representing a cistern full of water, an element of vital importance in situations like these. Water that has unfortunately evaporated because of the fire.

#bushfire: List

We tried to combine all these elements in a continuous and homogeneous event. Our aim was to create the right energy and by doing so to be able to reach the viewer and give him the opportunity to think about what he was seeing and to concentrate on his feelings.
